EP348: Ryan Lewis - The Success Of Autograph Authentic

Ryan Lewis was born in to a family of business people and he caught on at an early age. His real success started in his teens helping his uncle run a sports memorabilia business, holding autograph signing events with sports legend names like Bobby Hull, Guy Lafleur, Pat Borders, Johnny Bower, Maurice Richard, Gordie Howe etc… The business has been growing ever since and has been known as Autograph Authentic since 2001. They are the makers of Career Jerseys; jerseys that have player stats printed on the back, and the popular Charity Easel Silent Auction Program seen in many department and grocery stores. McDonald’s restaurants and Best Buy are examples of businesses who deal with Autograph Authentic.

Expert action steps:

  1. “Later” and “tomorrow”... get rid of these concepts. Act now and push.

  2. In business, look at money as points in a video game to avoid the psychological fear factor that can complicate your approach to business.

  3. Be nice, honest and treat all clients and customers as equals.

EP347: Thought Leader Nuggets #48 - Why People Need Connections

“Technology should be enhancing our connection others, not replacing it."

Personal resilience and the resilience of a community comes from the power of connection. Everything improves from the individual’s physical and mental wellbeing to the community’s ability to grow and respond to changes. Human connection has always been ingrained with survival so naturally the same principle applies to the growth and resilience of your business.

Today we hear chapter three from the book Nicky co-authored with Kai Bjorn called The Power Of Connection: How To Activate Profitable Relationships By Serving Your Networks.

In this episode:

  • Being connected is critical for you to be able to increase your profits.

  • Trusting, cooperative relationships make businesses grow and thrive.

  • Ideas that can help generate tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars for your business.

EP346: Raymond Aaron - Beyond Fear & Doubt

“You never know how far you can go, until you risk going too far.” - T.S. Elliot

Comfort has its place in our lives but it’s best if you take it as it comes, rather than get carried away in the pursuit of it. Stepping out of your comfort zone and committing to hard work is what brings results and comfort is the least of the rewards. You need courage and willpower and when you’re truly stepping out of your comfort zone you need a coach to help you break through your fears, doubts and other psychological barriers.

Raymond Aaron has taken on many challenges in his life and proven these secrets to himself several times over. But perhaps the biggest challenge he’s ever faced was the death defying foot race from Resolute Bay, Nunavut to the North Pole. From the two years of training before the race (with physical trainer Nicky Billou!), to facing the extremes of the arctic for one month, Raymond discovered that he sets his own limits and that great power comes when you believe in the version of yourself beyond fear and doubt. The physical gives way to the spiritual, and magic starts to happen.

Expert action steps:

  1. Start by taking yourself out of your comfort zone just a little by changing your routine in some small.

  2. Read the book that Raymond and Nicky will be co-authoring.

  3. Get out of your ego’s comfort zone by doing the first thing that comes to your mind. Something that you know you should do but scares you. Like apologizing to someone you’ve hurt, or taking yourself more seriously.

Raymond applies these same philosophies to business and has achieved great success. He is a top international speaker and author and offers many teaching and coaching programs. You can learn more at aaron.com.

During his time as president and CEO of G4S Canada, today’s guest changed the thinking of the company resulting in a 63% growth rate over 6 years.

Jean Taillon already knew in his teens that he wanted to run a company and he found success in the tech industry working for Nortel in his early twenties. By his late twenties he was developing products to compete with telecommunications giant, Bell, and was later hired by Bell to find solutions for their under served market. Jean is currently the Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Vice President of Trispec Communications Inc.

There’s always the possibility of fiasco, but there’s also the possibility of bliss.” - Joseph Campbell
