Tim Larkin, who is an American self-defense expert, former military intelligence officer and best-selling author, was in the peak of his career when the worst thing happened to him.

During military training, he already knew that he was suffering from an ear congestion, but due to arrogance, he still pursued pressure diving which burst his eardrum. 

He thought it was the end of his career, but really, it was the start of a new one.

A few years later, he began Target Focus Training (TFT) which teaches students to recognize when they can avoid violence, and when to use it if they're facing imminent, life-threatening danger. 

TFT helps to focus on the similarities that every human body shares, so that the students can learn the ways that all people will be vulnerable.
