There’s also a training program called the Contrarian Crypto Club, helping all ages to navigate crypto investment. Published books include titles like Stock Investing for Beginners: Fantastic Moats and Where to Find Them, The 8-Step Beginner’s Guide to Value InvestingThe Only Bitcoin Investing Book You’ll Ever Need, and several others including the recently published The Only Crypto-Currency Investing Book You’ll Ever Need.

EP352: Riaz Aziz - From Cancer Patient To Cancer Recovery Coach

Often what develops a person’s expertise is their own life experience. And with the right mindset, that experience becomes thought leadership. Riaz Aziz survived stage three lymphoma and in the process, he learned a lot about the many challenges people face during and after cancer treatment. Gradually, his experiences and mindset positioned him to take the lead in helping other patients and their families navigate the cancer treatment process. Opportunities to help people started coming his way. His experience and his ability to relate to people on a personal level naturally made him a specialist in cancer rehabilitation. His business message is one that many people recognize and need.

One of the programs that Riaz is developing is called Road To Survivorship, supporting people in their cancer recovery without the fear of cancer coming back.

Expert action steps:

  1. Respond, don’t react. When you’re making decisions, make them based on information, not on emotion. Specifically, fear.

  2. Risk-benefit ratio. Calculate whether any risks you might take are worth the outcome. If what you’re doing doesn’t align with your purpose, don’t do it.

  3. Self-regulation. Recognize when you have the best time and ability to make decisions.

To contact Riaz, you can email him at riaxion@rogers.com.

EP351: Thought Leader Nuggets #50 - The Ugly Truth

“It’s not their fault but it’s totally their responsibility….Technology is like money: a terrible master but a wonderful servant.”

Tech is a fascinating and powerful tool for many aspects of life. But navigating modern technological and scientific developments takes principles that help us restrain ourselves from getting carried away. We have to maintain our role as the masters of our own lives rather than giving that power away to AI or the big tech companies that work hard to keep us fixated on their services. That way, our tech will only be another tool to help us clear a path toward the success of our children, families and ourselves.

In this episode:

  • How to determine if you’re the master or servant of your tech.

  • Tips to protect your children’s sovereignty over their own lives.

  • How to fast-track your success.

EP350: Lorne Jackson - Wealth & Virtue

“God owns my business, I work for Him.”

Money is something mentioned throughout the bible. The pursuit of money gives us an opportunity to practice god-given principles that guide us toward living a balanced and virtuous life. Many successful entrepreneurs have proven that maintaining integrity and caring for others are just as important as financial literacy.

Lorne Jackson has over 30 years in the financial planning business. In the 1980s, he bought a financial planning company with 65 advisors and 10 years later he had recruited over 1400 more.

Lorne enjoys financial planning for the people, not the numbers. He has since dedicated his life to bringing faith to people, especially in the business world. In 2002 he started the Canadian National Christian Foundation, creating and simplifying opportunities for people and organizations to donate money in meaningful ways. In the realm of estate planning, Lorne has also created Advisors With Purpose, operating as a charity and bringing free estate planning to people as an act of stewardship.

Expert action steps:

  1. Do what you say you’re going to do.

  2. Keep God at the center of your business.

  3. Stewardship. A Godly use of time, talent and treasure. Be a steward of your family. Carefully balance your business life with your family; Quality AND quantity.

Go to advisorswithpurpose.ca for a free estate plan.

EP349: Thought Leader Nuggets #49 - How We Got Here

“Is it possible for us to use technology to create an authentic, real and fulfilling online connection for humanity?” Yes. But only if we embrace the truth that it’s people that make the technology and use it to uplift humanity, and not technology that is intrinsically valuable in and of itself.”

Tech has become a powerful tool to connect with others. That should only be a good thing as long as human connection is the priority. But as our relationship with tech grows, we’re filtering more and more of the human experience through the digital world.
