EP424: Lt. Colonel Dave Grossman - Why Sleep Is A Weapon

“I think that I shall never settle, in a lawn as nice as any meadow.”

Harnessing the potential of your mind and body allows you to wield yourself as a powerful tool throughout your life. It begins with a strong, healthy mindset and good physical health. Lt. Colonel Dave Grossman is a retired US Army Ranger, paratrooper, and a former West Point Psychology Professor. He has a Black Belt in Hojutsu, the martial art of the firearm, and has been inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He has five patents, he’s authored four novels, two children’s’ books, and six non-fiction books including the best seller, On Killing, with over half a million copies sold in English alone. He’s a high-performance person who’s life experience makes him a true thought leader in multiple domains. One area of particular interest is the impact of sleep deprivation on individuals and society. He likens sleep deprivation to intoxication and points out some of the most power aspects of our society that are intent on dragging people into the trap of sleep deprivation.

Expert action steps:

  1. You’ve got to get control of your mind and body. Remove distractions like alcohol, cell phones, laptops, binge watching, too much caffeine…
